My Work - New Haven's Commission on Equal OpportunitiesThe privilege of making a difference in civil rights through city governmentOn September 7, 2017, the Board of New Haven's Commission on Equal Opportunities voted to accept Mayor Toni Harp's recommendation and hire me as their Acting Interim Executive Director. My first day was September 27, 2017.
The way I see it, I've been asked to take on the civic equivalent of a sacred trust, made doubly so because Mayor Harp is the first black woman to serve in that position, and because she and the Commissioners have played historic roles in making New Haven a better place for all people. I'm doing my best to meet the challenge. Learn more or do business with New Haven's Commission on Equal Opportunities. My Prior Work - Aspire Praxis, LLC[No, I don't run the consulting business anymore, but I don't have the heart to pull this down. I had a lot of fun working with people to figure out how to do great things. I've left the website up as well.]
